Service Servicing
the Pump: 1. Pump must never be
allowed to run dry, or be plugged with debris. 2. Make sure that
clean water is circulating through the pump. Make sure the
pump is properly installed, that the pump is submerged, not
in open air. 3. AP series pumps
should not be used outside as this series pump would not
have a grounded cord. 4. Use only 115 Volt
AC 60 Cycle electrical current unless marked
otherwise. 5. Priming the pump:
When using the pump for the first time be sure to turn it on
and off several times to be sure that all the air is out of
the discharge line. 6. Whenever a pump is
used outside be sure that a filter screen is installed in
front of the intake of the pump. The screen, and intake of
the pump should be inspected and cleaned regularly to
prevent foreign matter such as leaves, stones, etc. from
entering the pump housing and blocking the impeller and
restricting the flow. 7. When freezing may
occur, the pump must be removed from the water prior to
freezing as frozen water will expand and break the pump, or
pump components. 8. This pump does not
use oil to operate. Instead, a magnetically driven motor
pushes the water through the housing. Attention is needed to
reduce any chemical buildup or debris that may form on the
impeller and rotor. Follow the servicing steps when cleaning
the pump. 9. Has the water
level dropped below the top of the impeller? Without water
the pump will overheat and the motor will burn
out. 10. Electrical
Power-check it to be sure you have electric power, that the
circuit breaker or fuse has not blown. 11. Disconnect the
electrical plug. Check the electrical cord for any cuts or
breaks. 12. Check the suction
and discharge lines for breaks or blockage. 13. Check the suction
screen, it could be clogged with debris or algae. 14. Check the
impeller for any foreign matter. 15. You may regularly
rinse the pump and pump parts in a 50-50 mixture of warm
water and household vinegar. If there is any build up of
grime or calcium, it may require a light brushing. Keep your
pump clean at all times. CAUTION:
Always disconnect the pump from the power source before
cleaning and servicing. Limited
